Autodesk Labs: Rendering via the Cloud Demo

The recent Autodesk Lab projects such as Project Twitch, Project Neon and more proves that Autodesk is seriously thinking of moving to a SaaS based business model in the future.

Will we soon not need to have an $8,000 Dell or HP workstation sitting next to us on our desk? Will we instead by a workstation supercomputer that lives in the cloud in a secure datacenter that we never have to worry about breaking down?

Also the fact that Autodesk is a part owner in OnLive.com clearly shows that they are investing into the future of cloud computing and running high end graphics over the WAN.

Not sure if this software is running in the cloud or not, but I feel that it has some fairly impressive modeling features.
